After months of speculation, Nintendo have finally unveiled their next console - and it looks like the hearsay was somewhat accurate. The Switch will also support a Pro Controller, and the brief appearance of Amiibo figures at around the 2:15 mark suggests they might be compatible with the new console. Check out the First Look trailer for a glimpse at some of the console’s key features and supported games – including The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, NBA 2K, Mario Kart, Splatoon and … Skyrim?? Reggie Fils-Aime, President and COO of Nintendo of America, had this to say about Nintendo’s next console: “Nintendo Switch allows gamers the freedom to play however they like. It gives game developers new abilities to bring their creative visions to life by opening up the concept of gaming without boundaries.” Some of those developers that will be taking advantage of the Switch’s new abilities can be seen in the image below. A sizeable list has also been provided, it looks like the Switch won’t be suffering the same lack of third party support that has blighted the Wii U.
The Nintendo Switch will release March 2017. What do you make of the Nintendo Switch? Is this the console to propel Nintendo to the fore of the gaming industry once again? Comment below or join in with the discussion over in the forums. Leave a Reply. |
