Bandai Namco’s recent collaborations with Nintendo include work on the Wii U and 3DS versions of Super Smash Bros., as well as Pokkén Tournament. These reports seemed to be corroborated by one of the studio’s staff, who listed an “unannounced IP (first person shooter/adventure exclusive to the Nintendo Switch)” on their LinkedIn profile.
Metroid Prime 4 was announced during last year’s E3 event, with Nintendo revealing the game was currently in development for the Switch with the short teaser trailer above. Very little official news has been released regarding the next chapter in Samus’ adventures since then, other than the publisher confirming series’ veteran Kensuke Tanabe will be producing the upcoming title, and that the developers of the original Metroid Prime trilogy, Retro Studios, are not involved. What do you think of the rumours? Let us know below. Ubisoft are adding dedicated servers to their medieval brawler For Honor later this month, but only on PC, for the time being.
Ubisoft are also planning to bring dedicated servers to console players “soon after the implementation on PC” but didn’t provide a specific date.
“Changing the online infrastructure while the game was live was a challenge, but a decisive step in improving the game experience of our players,” said For Honor Game Director, Damien Kieken. “The implementation of the dedicated servers gives us confidence in the direction the game is taking and will pave the way for a full year of continued support and new contents.” As well as the arrival of dedicated servers, Ubisoft are celebrating the one year anniversary of For Honor with the Age of Wolves season five event, which introduces “major changes” to five of the game’s heroes and other updates that “adjust player progression, ranked play and more.” Are you happy to see For Honor finally getting dedicated servers? An anonymous source told Kotaku that a number of layoffs have hit Capcom Vancouver, the studio responsible for Dead Rising, as part of a reorganisation intended to "streamline the company and wrangle the next Dead Rising, which had been over-scoped and under-staffed." "Capcom Vancouver has undergone a restructure which has impacted approximately 30% of the studio, as part of its regular periodic assessment of upcoming projects and overall studio goals. The team is continuing to work hard to support the recent release of Puzzle Fighter for mobile and is dedicated to its flagship Dead Rising series."

As well as the new story DLC, Warner Bros. also detailed some free content coming to all Shadow of War players, including some tweaks to the game’s Nemesis System. Orc Captains will now exhibit new personality traits and skills, both friend and foe alike, such as being able to summon Ghuls or fire arrows with “pinpoint accuracy”, while Ologs can now stagger nearby enemies and damage structures with their Tremor ability. The leak comes from the folks over at Trusted Reviews, who claim they were sent development notes back in August 2017. They now believe the notes to be genuine following Rockstar's official unveiling of some new screenshots. Money Grab tasks two teams with with grabbing sacks of cash from a central location and returning them to their own base as fast as possible, whilst preventing their opponents from doing the same.
The notes also state that the multiplayer open world will be much deeper than GTA Online's, with NPCs decorating storefronts and packing things away at night, as a couple of examples. Other rumoured features include frequent rewards given for reaching certain milestones, upgradeable tents which serve a similar purpose to GTA's apartments, a number of shops and NPCs which provide missions and items, and a wide variety of activities such as fishing, herding, gold mining, gambling and weapon challenges. Minecarts, handcarts and horse drawn carriages are stated to be available as transport options, with trains being hinted at too. Reportedly being added to the series is the ability to play both the main campaign and online portion from a first-person perspective, Random Events (think GTA V's Strangers and Freaks missions), and contextual dialogue that will allow players to spare an injured enemy’s life in exchange for information or cold, hard cash. The leak also suggests that choices made during missions could lead to different outcomes. There's a lot to take in, though do keep in mind that it’s all just speculation for now. Set on the seemingly idyllic Rook Island, Far Cry 3 saw players step into the role of holiday maker Jason Brody as he tries to save his friends from the game’s deranged antagonist, Vaas.
The Classic Edition included in the season pass will only give console players access to the game’s single player content, while PC users get the entire Far Cry 3 experience. A standalone version of Far Cry 3 Classic Edition will be released on Xbox One and PS4 this summer, though owners of Microsoft’s console can already play the original version after it was made backwards compatible on Xbox One last year. Far Cry 5 is out 27 March on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Let us know your thoughts on the Far Cry 5 season pass and its contents below. |
