There are a total of fifteen career paths available, three for each hero, all offering up different play styles thanks to them carrying their own unique talent trees, abilities, weapons and equipment. The revamped loot system ties rewards to the hero and career you’re currently playing, and will award relevant gear at the end of each mission. Alongside the wide range of levels available, the Heroic Deeds system offers a slightly different take on the standard four-player missions. These consumable quests take place in strange new settings and dramatically change the mix of enemies you'll face, limit the use of weapons and abilities, or give strange mission objectives. The developers believe they have surpassed the achievements of Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide. Martin Wahlund, CEO of Fatshark, had this to say: "Vermintide 2 is the evolution of the genre. If you liked the first game, you’ll love the second. We have listened to the community, analyzed hours and hours of online playthroughs, and combined this with our passion for co-op games to bring you the very best experience possible.” Another livestream in December will shed some light on their plans for Twitch integration, but, in the meantime, you can watch the gameplay trailer or catch up on yesterday's stream in full below. Monolith have confirmed the much-requested endless Shadow Wars feature is coming to Middle-earth: Shadow of War at some point. Beware minor spoilers for those still progressing with the game. The announcement was made during a Twitch stream, in which members of the studio confirmed the feature will arrive alongside the Slaughter Tribe DLC, though this particular expansion has yet to receive a release date.

EA have announced they plan to shut down Visceral Games (Dead Space, Battlefield Hardline, Dante’s Inferno) and drastically overhaul the Star Wars title the studio has been working on. “It has become clear that to deliver an experience that players will want to come back to and enjoy for a long time to come, we needed to pivot the design,” wrote Söderlund.
“We are shifting the game to be a broader experience that allows for more variety and player agency, leaning into the capabilities of our Frostbite engine and reimagining central elements of the game to give players a Star Wars adventure of greater depth and breadth to explore.” Game development is now being led by EA Vancouver (FIFA, NHL, SSX) who were already working on the project, while the majority of Visceral Games’ staff will (hopefully) be relocated to other EA studios and projects. No new release window was provided for the game, which EA originally expected to launch late in their 2019 fiscal year. Let us know your thoughts on the future of the project below or in the forums. Introducing Deus Vult - Arena17/10/2017 Omicron Studio have launched a Kickstarter campaign seeking funds for a third-person action adventure title, which draws influence from favourites such as Soul Reaver, Metal Gear Solid, DOOM and The Legend of Zelda. The goal of combat is to destroy the physical bodies of the enemies and absorb their spirits to increase your own power. They won't make it easy though; once deprived of their bodies, the spirits will look for a way to reincarnate.
The same fate awaits players who are defeated whilst fighting as Minocar. Lulu will lose the skull and have to retrieve it. Whilst Lulu is invisible to most enemies he can be spotted by Guardian Eyes that will reveal his location. Should the game be successfully funded, Omicron Studio’s initial plan is to release first on PC, but they haven't ruled out bringing it to consoles in the future. Check out the Kickstarter page if you'd like to back it, or just find out more about the world of Lythra and the enemies that dwell there. What do you think of Deus Vult - Arena so far? Fans of Deck13 Interactive's dystopian ARPG, The Surge, can get their hands on a total of 10 new weapons - provided they can wrestle them from the hands of their enemies. The ice weapons are CREO's space travel testing tools. The prototypes were created to test materials in the cold blackness of space and can harness extremely low temperatures. They weren't designed for combat so they have low physical damage output but they make up for that with high elemental damage. Wielding these weapons will also provide a passive health bonus.
The Surge's upcoming premium DLC, A Walk in the Park, is set to release later this year, adding a new location along with more new weapons, enemies and a free content update that’s said to improve the end game experience for high level players. If you're new to the game or wondering how it fares, check out our review. Are the free weapons enough to draw you back to The Surge? Waiting on the upcoming expansion?
