Ms Marvel joins Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics' Marvel’s Avengers as a playable character10/10/2019 Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have confirmed Ms. Marvel’s addition to the roster of playable characters in Marvel’s Avengers, their upcoming action-adventure game. “An optimistic fan girl of the Avengers, Kamala Khan is the perfect character for the story we’re telling in Marvel’s Avengers,” said Shaun Escayg, Creative Director and Writer at Crystal Dynamics.
“Telling our story of Kamala’s coming-of-age brings a fresh, hopeful perspective to the gameplay experience and her unique abilities as Ms. Marvel make her a character every person can relate to and will want to play. Kamala Khan is one of the unique characters that makes our game stand apart from any Avengers story experienced before.” Those of you lucky enough to be attending this year’s EGX event can head on over to the Virgin Media booth where an exclusive extended demo of the game will be playable for the very first time in the UK. Marvel’s Avengers is out 15 May 2020 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC and Google Stadia. id Software have announced a delay for DOOM Eternal, which was originally scheduled for release next month. As well as news of the delay, id also shared a couple of other more positive bits of information:

Sony have revealed the name and release window of their next console, which, as predicted, will be called PlayStation 5. The PS5’s controller will also have “adaptive triggers” that allow developers to tweak the resistance so players can “feel the tactile sensation of drawing a bow and arrow or accelerating an off-road vehicle through rocky terrain.” Some studios already have their hands on the new controllers, according to the blog.

Lionbite Games have released the opening chapter of their “story-driven tactics-adventure” title, Rain of Reflections. Fully voiced dialogue choices can be used to “convince, defuse or outsmart” other characters, and will also help turn battles in your favour by affecting friends and foes in combat.
The game’s motivation system, which takes note of players' actions and choices, allows you to approach situations in multiple ways, depending on Wilona’s relationship with certain characters. Each of Rain of Reflections subsequent chapters - which will be released as their own, independent product - feature new environments and gameplay from alternate perspectives. The next two chapters – Open Eye and Undercurrent – star a deadbeat private investigator located in a cyberpunk district, and an underground resistant leader called Imra. Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix have teamed up with Virgin Media to bring a playable version of their upcoming Marvel's Avengers game to this month’s EGX event at London ExCel. The above video showcases exactly what type of gameplay attendees can look forward to trying out at EGX. The demo includes Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, Black Widow and Captain America trying to halt an attack on the Golden Gate Bridge, highlighting the game’s “cinematic combat-action” and character hopping mechanics.

MercurySteam have rolled out the Heavy Metal update for their asymmetrical multiplayer shooter, Spacelords, across Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Blueprints, which are also used to build weapons, have been made more powerful to reflect their “new high-ranking status” and will remain as special prizes.
On top of the Forge System, Heavy Metal also adds a Talent System to “further emphasize the player’s control” over the way their character plays by adding a Talent Tree, and also introduces “new and exciting gameplay options”, such as the ability to launch Aleph blasts at enemies. It seems that Monday’s launch of the update caused a few players to experience crashes while using the game’s main menu, but MercurySteam have since resolved the problem. PlayStation Now gets a price cut and new blockbuster games like GTA V, God of War & Uncharted 42/10/2019 Sony have revealed a price cut for their PlayStation Now subscription service which lets players download or stream hundreds of titles from PS2, PS3 and PS4 libraries.
The new price cuts see the monthly UK cost cut from £14.99 to £9.99, with the yearly cost dropping from £84.99 to £49.99.

The decision to add first party titles such as Uncharted 4 and God of War could be seen as a response to the growing popularity of Microsoft’s own subscription service, Xbox Game Pass, which features a smaller collection of titles but does allow users instant access to all first-party Xbox One titles from their day of release.
