Marvel’s Avengers PS5 and Xbox Series X|S upgrade releasing in March, alongside Hawkeye DLC17/2/2021 Square Enix have revealed the release date for the next-gen upgrade of Marvel’s Avengers, as well as sharing more details on the game’s next character DLC, Hawkeye. Saves and game progress will transfer between platforms, and cross-gen play will still be supported between old and new generations of consoles.
The upgrade is free for players who own the PS4 or Xbox One versions of the game, but only when upgrading to the corresponding generation (PS4 to PS5, for example). The upgrade also won’t work if you own the physical copy of the game on Xbox One or PS4 and are trying to then upgrade to Xbox Series S or PS5 Digital Edition console, however, due to the latter pairs' lack of disc drives, though owners of the digital versions will still be eligible for it. Also arriving the same day as the next-gen upgrade is Clint Barton, aka, Hawkeye, the latest playable character being added to the game’s roster of superheroes. Operation: Hawkeye – Future Imperfect, will be available for free across all platforms and includes new story content, Hawkeye himself, and a new villain called Maestro, who’s described as “a version of Hulk with Bruce Banner’s brains and the Hulk’s strengths and abilities, now driven mad in an apocalyptic future.” Are you looking forward to the new content and next-gen upgrade?
