Ubisoft are working on a sequel to The Division, according to a leak.

The news comes via a leaked press release which apparently turned up on a German business news site earlier than Ubisoft planned. The press release is said to confirm that the studio behind the original game, Massive Entertainment, are working on the sequel with assistance from a number of other Ubisoft studios from across the globe.

Much like the first game, The Division 2 will run on the Snowdrop Engine, albeit an improved version of it. No images, trailers or launch date were amongst the leaked info, with the above logo the only media currently available, although Ubisoft are planning to reveal more at this year’s E3.

​Ubisoft recently announced that The Division had surpassed the 20 million player mark and is currently celebrating the milestone, alongside its second anniversary, with a month of in-game activities.

A visual update for Xbox One X users is also currently in the works for The Division and, starting in June, players will be able to earn Crests, in-game achievements that can be used to unlock rewards in The Division 2.
