NetherRealm and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have announced a new expansion for Mortal Kombat 11.

The expansion, titled Aftermath, builds on the game’s campaign with “an all-new, cinematic narrative centred around trust and deceit.” These new chapters will mark the return of Fujin and Sheeva as playable characters.

It’ll also introduce RoboCop as a guest fighter, complete with the likeness and voice of original RoboCop and RoboCop 2 actor Peter Weller.
Additionally, Aftermath is set to introduce three new character skin packs gradually over time.

Meanwhile, all MK11 players will be given free access to new stages including the Klassic Dead Pool and Soul Chamber arenas. Not only that, but new stage fatalities - where players use environmental objects to brutally dispatch their opponents - are also being added.

Friendships, a popular 90s feature and family-friendly alternative to the series’ violent Fatalities, are also being added for everybody via a free title update. Players will be able to kill their enemies with “a hint” of kindness by hugging teddy bears, jumping rope and hosting barbecues.

Aftermath will be available to download digitally from 26 May. Existing Mortal Kombat 11 players can expect to pay £34.99 / €39.99, while new players can pick up the Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath Kollection for £49.99 / €59.99, which includes the aforementioned expansion along with the base game and all previously released content.
