Nintendo’s New 3DS has been discontinued

The House of Mario has stopped production of the New 3DS in Europe after discontinuing the handheld in Japan.

The announcement means the New 3DS is now no longer available anywhere in the world. The New 3DS, which has improved eye tracking and interchangeable faceplates, was released in 2015 in the UK but was only available through special promotions or bundles in America.

​The 3DS family now includes the New 3DS XL and 2DS, as well as the New 2DS XL, which was released in Japan on 13 July and launches in Europe and America on 28 July, priced at £130 and $150 respectively.

3DS owners have plenty to look forward to with Hey! Pikmin, Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, and Metroid: Samus Returns all out this year.
