Play Ghost Recon Wildlands for free this weekend

Players on Xbox One, PS4 and PC will have full access to the base game's content, including the free Ghost War PvP update which launches today.

Ghost War is a 4v4 team deathmatch mode with the same emphasis on tactics and strategy. There are 12 distinct classes to choose from, each with their own weapons, perks and customisation options. Battles take place across 8 unique maps and feature new mechanics such as suppressing fire and sound indicators.

The developers plan to add more maps, game modes and classes, along with balancing tweaks and quality of life updates, over the next few months. Any new maps and modes will be free to all players upon release, whilst new classes need to be unlocked with Prestige Credits, an in-game currency earned through progression. Season pass holders can get their hands on characters a week early, and without having to spend Prestige Credits, in a similar fashion to other Ubisoft titles.

The free weekend kicks off on Thursday 12 October and runs until Sunday 15 October. PC players can preload the game early via Uplay.

Your progression will carry over if you decide to purchase and all editions are discounted by 50% for the duration of the free weekend.
