PlayStation Now gets a price cut and new blockbuster games like GTA V, God of War & Uncharted 4

Sony have revealed a price cut for their PlayStation Now subscription service which lets players download or stream hundreds of titles from PS2, PS3 and PS4 libraries.

A number of “marquee” titles are also being added to the service every month, the first batch of which includes GTA V, God of War, Uncharted 4 and inFAMOUS: Second Son. These games, which can be downloaded and played in full on PS4, are available from 1 October until 2 January. Sony’s blog post didn’t reveal what new games would be replacing these AAA titles in January but did confirm they will also only be available for a limited time.

The new price cuts see the monthly UK cost cut from £14.99 to £9.99, with the yearly cost dropping from £84.99 to £49.99.

Here’s a list of the updated prices for all regions:

• US: $9.99 – monthly / $24.99 – quarterly / $59.99 – yearly (from $19.99/ $44.99/ $99.99)
• CAN: $12.99 – monthly / $34.99 – quarterly / $79.99 – yearly (from $19.99/ $44.99/ $99.99)
• EU: €9.99 – monthly / €24.99 – quarterly / €59.99 – yearly (from €14.99/ (N/A)/ €99.99)
• UK: £8.99 – monthly / £22.99 – quarterly / £49.99 – yearly (from £12.99 / (N/A) / £84.99)
• JP: ¥1,180 – monthly / ¥2,980 – quarterly / ¥6,980 yearly (from ¥2,500 / ¥5,900/ (N/A))

The decision to add first party titles such as Uncharted 4 and God of War could be seen as a response to the growing popularity of Microsoft’s own subscription service, Xbox Game Pass, which features a smaller collection of titles but does allow users instant access to all first-party Xbox One titles from their day of release.
