Red Dead Redemption backwards compatibility was 'an error'

Yesterday we reported that there was a 'backdoor' way to play last-gen smash hit Red Dead Redemption, and several other titles, on your Xbox One. Unfortunately, this has since been declared an error, and has now been pulled. So no, there was no early release; although Larry Hyrb's response suggests it is indeed in the pipeline:

“Microsoft tests all Xbox 360 games with our emulator to ensure a quality experience across a breadth of titles.

Due to an error, some of the games currently in test were accidentally made available, We have since removed access to those games, and apologize for any confusion this may have caused. We will have more information on upcoming releases soon.”

​Hopefully there won't be too long to wait!
