A remake of Capcom’s Resident Evil 3 was officially announced today during the latest State of Play stream, following recent leaks that all but confirmed the news last week.
As well as a completely overhauled main campaign, the remake also features an asymmetrical multiplayer mode called Resident Evil Resistance, which was first unveiled as a working title at the Tokyo Game Festival.
In this mode, one player takes on the role of the Mastermind and three others play as Survivors. Masterminds can “manipulate the environment and wield a deck of cards to place vicious creatures, set traps and weaponized security cameras” to try and stop Survivors, who in turn must work together and use their characters’ special abilities to escape the experiments before time runs out. Resident Evil 3 is coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam on 3 April 2020. Looking forward to the remake? What do you think of the inclusion of Resistance as a multiplayer mode?
