Speyer and Glory are the new multiplayer maps coming to Gears of War 4 this month

It’s a brand-new month, so that means it’s time for the latest content drop for Gears of War 4, including two maps and some tweaks to the multiplayer.

Speyer and Glory go into rotation from 6 December for season pass holders and 13 December for everyone else, replacing Gridlock and Relic “for now”. Much like with the announcement of last month’s additional content, The Coalition have provided a couple of videos and descriptions for the new maps.

Speyer
 
“Evacuated long ago, this lonely district of Speyer is a still image of pre-Locust War life. The battle for the sanctuary is a close quarters affair, but teams looking to control the sprawling academy will need to do so together. Speyer’s opulent interiors and quaint plazas are best suited to longer range engagements.”

Glory
 
“A monument of military might, this COG battery was used only against the most strategic targets to maintain its secrecy. The defensibility of this fortress can be used to your advantage if captured, which includes a powerful mounted turret that can suppress the courtyard below.”
 
Arriving alongside the maps are a couple of updates to help improve the game’s multiplayer experience (which you can see below) as well as bonus credits and XP for season pass holders who make use of the new content during their week of early access.

• Daily Rewards system
• Improved visual feedback for damage dealt with the Gnasher
• Vertical Split-Screen for Windows 10 players
• Improvements to footstep audio balance, audio/video settings

 
The game will also be featured as part of the Xbox Store Holiday Sales, with a 33% discount for anyone who makes a purchase before 28 December.
