Explore procedurally generated tropical environments in Beam Team’s survival game Stranded Deep, out today on Xbox One and PS4. Structures in the game range from basic shelters built from palm fronds to more lavish designs made from bricks and wood. You can also make vehicles such as rafts and even a gyrocopter, all of which can be used to explore new areas. These include other tropical islands and the surrounding waters, with players able to search for treasure and supplies in shipwrecks and abandoned dwellings.
Local fauna include snakes, wild boar and sharks, but also kraken-like giant squid, which you can see a brief glimpse of in the video above. There’s said to be three bosses to best, each of which offer up a “very important reward” once beaten along with a trophy that can be mounted on an in-game wall. Stranded Deep is available to purchase digitally on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 for £16.74 and £15.99, respectively. Did you play the original PC release?
