Super Mario Run launches on iPhone and iPad next month

Nintendo have confirmed the release date for their first ever mobile game featuring the iconic plumber.

Super Mario Run - a game in which players tap the screen to make a constantly running Mario jump and dodge obstacles - will be available for iPhone and iPad users to download from the App Store as of 15 December.

People can download the game for free to sample some of Super Mario Run’s three modes, while a onetime purchase of $9.99 opens up unlimited access to the full game.

Super Mario Run was “developed under the direction of Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto,” according to Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and “brings a new take on the series’ beloved action-platforming gameplay to iPhone and iPad for the first time.”
