The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is an atmospheric mystery game that focuses on exploration and discovery, as “occult-minded detective” Paul Prospero uses supernatural skills to solve a series of murders. The game arrives on Microsoft’s console nearly four years after its initial PC release, and two and a half years after it made its console debut on PS4.

The Xbox One version will launch with the same content that’s available on the PS4 and PC editions of the game, but will also include a brand new Free Roam mode, allowing players to explore the game’s scenic setting of Red Creek Valley at their leisure, sans the murders.

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is out 19 January on Xbox One and is available now on PS4 and PC.
