Nintendo Direct news round-up14/9/2017 Nintendo’s latest direct took place yesterday, giving us a closer at look at what the company has planned for Switch and 3DS over the coming months. Here’s a run-down of the biggest reveals from the broadcast.
The Switch version of DOOM doesn’t include the game’s SnapMap mode, but does come with all previously released DLC and will feature multiplayer, although if you’re picking up the physical edition of the game you’ll need to download the MP component separately due to limited space on the cartridge. Sticking with Bethesda news, we now have a release day for the Switch version of Skyrim, which will be launching 17 November. There’s a special Super Mario Odyssey bundle on the way Super Mario Odyssey already looks set to be one of the games of the year, and if you’ve yet to pick up a Switch then you may want to hold out a little longer for the special Odyssey bundle, which comes with two Mario-red Joy-Cons, a download code for Super Mario Odyssey and a specially themed carry case. The bundle launches the same day as the game, 27 October, with an RRP of $379.99 (or regional equivalent). Kirby Star Allies detailed Nintendo have shared a few more details about the Kirby game coming to Switch that was revealed at this year’s E3 event. Kirby Star Allies allows players to recruit up to three enemies by throwing hearts at them, and, once on board, players can use their new allies’ unique abilities in various combinations to overcome foes and obstacles. Players will be able to team up with three friends while playing Kirby Star Allies, which will launch sometime next spring. Other Switch news revealed during the broadcast includes a free update for Splatoon 2 that sees the Kelp Dome and Snapper Canal stages added, as well as the new Tenta Brella weapon. ARMS is also getting an update, one that lets players remap the game’s controls to any buttons they see fit, and Snipperclips is getting an extra 30 levels this November, which will be available as a $9.99 expansion for existing owners of the game and as part of the new Snipperclips Plus: Cut it out, together! bundle that’ll run you $29.99 (or regional equivalent). Minecraft is coming to the 3DS
The New Nintendo 3DS range of handhelds (including the recently released 2DS XL) are the latest platforms to receive the world-building juggernaut that is Minecraft. The game comes with Creative and Survival modes, as well as five skin packs and two texture packs. Boxed editions will be launched at a later date, but you can download it now from the Nintendo eShop. Mario Party: The Top 100 announced for 3DS Nintendo are bringing the best of Mario Party to the 3DS family on 10 November. The top 100 mini-games from the series’ history are being bundled together and will be playable on a handheld console for the first time. The game also supports local Download Play, meaning four players can take part in some multiplayer action with only one game card needed. Kirby vs Kirby Unlike the teamwork featured in Star Allies, Kirby: Battle Royale sees up to four Kirbys duking it out with some of the character’s most iconic abilities. The game will feature 10 different battle modes that can be played in both online and local multiplayer, and is out 19 January 2018. Ubisoft will also be hosting the Rainbow Six UK Invitational for Rainbow Six Siege at the ESL Arena on Friday 22 September, with four teams from the Go4 UK Xbox One finals going head to head for the £4,250 prize. Lastly, it was announced that the publisher will be sponsoring this year’s cosplay competition, with a special sub-category for the best Assassin’s Creed inspired outfit. The lucky winner will walk away with Assassin’s Creed themed prizes as well as a super pass for next year’s event. EGX takes place 21 – 24 September at the NEC, Birmingham. The battle system is varied and offers multiple ways to deal with your foes:
After creating your character, you can select one companion to venture out into the world with you: Louis is a young leader helping Revenants suffering from bloodlust. He ventures into the isolated land of VEIN looking for the source of Blood Beads to use as a substitute for human blood. With his one-handed sword, he is a swift attack expert and can elude with the armour type Ogre. Io is a female Revenant who explores with the protagonists. She has no memory of her past but knows VEIN very well. Each partner has their own combat style and background story which will alter the feel of the game. Ubisoft have revealed the open beta dates for Ghost Recon Wildlands’ upcoming multiplayer mode, Ghost War, ahead of its full release later this autumn. You can learn more about the featured classes in Ghost War, and their unique attributes, in the video below. Ubisoft will be showing off the new mode ahead of the beta during a special livestream, which you can catch on the game’s Twitch channel on 19 September 17:00 GMT.

The game’s visuals have been updated to take advantage of modern resolutions, with 4K support included for Xbox One X, PS4 Pro and PC. However, if you’d prefer some mid-2000’s nostalgia, there is also an option to play the game in its original 4:3 aspect ratio.

Nintendo have announced plans to keep up supplies of the SNES mini in Europe, and are also bringing back the much sought-after NES mini.
Europe will also be seeing a return of the NES mini next summer, Nintendo announced, despite the company halting production of the console earlier in the year.
No specific date was given for the NES mini’s return, or whether other regions will also be seeing a return of the hugely popular product.

Orcs in Shadow of War now belong to tribes, each with their own distinct cultures and societies, which serve to enhance the Nemesis System. Warner Bros. have started to release some info on the factions players will encounter. The Dark tribe use stealth and assassination to dominate the lands on behalf of the Lord of Mordor, whom they have a fanatical reverence for. Adept at ambushes and battlefield trickery, the Dark tribe wield power greater than their numbers would suggest and they rely on subterfuge to get the job done. Ubisoft announce new shooter Atomega11/9/2017 Ubisoft have revealed a new online multiplayer FPS that’s coming to Steam later this month. Atomega is developed by Reflections, the studio behind Grow Home and Grow Up. The player who collects the most mass, and therefore the most points, is declared the winner at the end of the round. The contents of the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront II beta have apparently been leaked over on Reddit by user Some_Info.
Playable Heroes are said to be the ones EA have already shown off at EA Play (Han Solo, Boba Fett, Rey and Darth Maul), while there will be new vehicles in the form of the LAAT, which Some_Info compares to the U-Wing from Battlefront’s Scarif expansion.
