Ports aplenty were promised for Nintendo's portable platform in the latest Direct, alongside the usual batch of new trailers and updates to existing titles.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition launches on the same date and includes all previously released DLC. Other notable ports were briefly advertised, such as Vampyr, which is due in October, DOOM 64 in November and Assassin's Creed: Rebel Collection on 6 December. The latter is a dual pack featuring Black Flag and Rogue along with all previously released DLC. A new multiplayer mode, ScreamPark, sees Team Luigi take on Team Gooigi in a series of party games. More of the two upcoming Pokémon games, Sword and Shield, were showcased, giving us a look at two new Pokémon and some interesting features. Polteageist is a ghost type creature which haunts a teapot and Cramorant is a flying and water type, which does not. You'll be able to hang out with friends at Pokémon Camp where you can cook various curries, filling up your Curry Dex as you "master the art of curry." Look forward to it on 15 November. Ubisoft have shared some tantalising details about the Ghost Recon: Breakpoint beta, which runs from 5 - 9 September, along with a new live-action trailer and a look at the first year of post-launch content. The beta will feature two missions taken from the main storyline, side missions to discover more about the island and its inhabitants, eight new Factions missions per day and three Drone Areas to test yourself against some of the game's tougher opponents.
During the beta, players can participate in Man Down, a special in-game charity event. This page tracks the amount of times players revive their teammates, with Ubisoft donating to Child's Play upon reaching certain milestones. The first year of post-launch content begins on the day of the game’s release with Operation Greenstone, followed by Episode 2 and 3, both of which last four months and bring in the following additional content:
Ghost Recon: Breakpoint releases 4 October on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, and will launch on Google Stadia in November. Will you be taking part in the beta? Let us know below or over in the forums. Indie publisher and developer tinyBuild have used PAX West 2019 to announce four games they’ll be helping to bring to PC (and one to consoles) later this year and in 2020. Next up is Rawmen, a multiplayer title with Splatoon vibes that stars naked chefs slinging soup (and other foodstuffs) at each other, with online support for up to eight players. No firm release date for this one, though there is an upcoming alpha which you can sign up for on the game's official site. The third game is a top-down title called Black Skylands, where survivors of a shattered Earth battle it out for supplies with giant airships. Your job is to make it into the titular lands through a mix of ground and air combat, with some rather cool powers apparently thrown into the mix such as the ability to temporarily pause time. Expect a Steam release in late 2020. Lastly we have Once Upon A Time in Roswell (previously known as The Peterson Case) a first-person psychological horror game that chronicles the story of a family’s disappearance in 1947 in Roswell, USA. Expect creepy flashbacks as players relive old memories and encounters with “otherworldly entities” as they go about solving the mystery of the missing family. It’s scheduled for an Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC release later next year. What do you think of the games? Let us know below or over in the forums.
