Respawn Entertainment’s free-to-play Battle Royale title, Apex Legends, has reached 10 million players in just three days.

The second part of EA's gameplay series delves into the end-game content that's available once the campaign is wrapped up. Upon reaching Pilot Level 30 and completing the main story, new difficulties will be unlocked alongside the standard Easy, Normal and Hard Modes. The three tiers of Grand Master provide more of a challenge and offer greater rewards for successful pilots.
Factions around Fort Tarsis will offer Contracts and those who prove themselves worthy could be tasked with taking on Legendary Contracts; multi part missions with bigger risks and better loot. Crafting blueprints, and the resources needed to build them, can be acquired from these factions as your reputation grows. Daily, weekly and monthly challenges can also be completed to earn coins and valuable materials. Strongholds, one of which we got to sample during the demo, will be one of the more challenging activities, along with Cataclysms. Cataclysms are big events causing physical changes to the world such as "extreme weather, deluges of hostile creatures, and changes to the landscape that will reveal new mysteries to solve." More characters, missions and stories are promised post-launch. Anthem releases 22 February on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Early Access starts 15 February for EA Access/Origins members. NetherRealm Studios have released a new trailer for Mortal Kombat 11 showcasing Kabal's brutal style. The former member of the Black Dragon clan has been resurrected as an evil Revenant and now serves the NetherRealm. Those who pre-order on Xbox One or PlayStation 4 through select retailers will receive access to the beta, which begins 28 March. All pre-orders will unlock Shao Kahn as a playable character. Deep Silver and 4A Games are celebrating Metro Exodus’ impending release with a new animated short called Artyom’s Nightmare. “Watching 4A Games take my characters off the page and onto the screen has been a privilege,” said Dmitry Glukhovsky, author of the original Metro novels. “I hope fans will enjoy this new glimpse into Artyom’s world.” Metro Exodus is out 15 February on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Warhorse Studios’ next batch of Kingdom Come: Deliverance DLC launches today on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. The DLC features multiple endings depending on the choices you make, a new camp location full of characters and stories, plus “The Ring of Bacchus” activity and a unique set of armour.

Apex Legends officially confirmed by Respawn Entertainment, available now on consoles and PC4/2/2019 Respawn Entertainment have officially unveiled Apex Legends, their Battle Royale title set within the Titanfall universe. The game features squad-based gunplay, with players forming a team of three from the selection of eight Legends. According to Respawn, Legends are “easy to pick up and learn, but challenging to master.”
Certain Battle Royale tropes have been given a new twist in Apex Legends, with players actually able to bring back fallen team members by utilising one-time use Respawn Beacons. Players can also tag equipment and enemies for their squad, and weapon attachments and gear automatically gets assigned to the appropriate piece of equipment when picked up thanks to the game’s “intelligent inventory system”. “Our goal in every game you play is that you come in with a plan but you leave with a story,” said Drew McCoy, Lead Producer for Apex Legends. “We’re building a game that is not only going to deliver a fun and memorable experience at launch, but something we can keep growing for a long time to come.” During this evening’s live stream Respawn confirmed that Apex Legends does include microtransactions, but they will be limited to cosmetic items only. The game will also feature a Battle Pass which players can purchase for “exclusive cosmetic items earned through gameplay.” What did you think of the reveal? Let us know below.
Titanfall 2 developer Respawn Entertainment will be unveiling a new game later this evening, known as Apex Legends.
Rumours suggest the game will not feature titans, instead favouring classes and hero setups with unique abilities. Team sizes will be limited to a maximum of three, with up to 60 players per server.
You can watch the reveal here. The stream is currently live and seems to be switching between what could possibly be map locations, with a few brief snapshots of action and cutscenes thrown in every now and then.
