PTC community round-up VII1/4/2016 Heavyarms_Kai's been having a worrying amount of fun with Persona 4 Dancing All Night. I thought it was just a stereotype that anime was rife with somewhat suspect sexualisation, but even anime fanatic Metalrodent can see the correlation: "It's anime, of course it'll be about school girls." Japan - you crazy!
PTCBobby finally joined us in 2016 with his purchase of an Xbox One, taking to the forum to ask what games people might recommend. The Halo franchise received a lot love, with Metalrodent, bongmaster00, Plasma wing, PTC l1am and PTC Bezza recommending both the value proposition of the Master Chief Collection and Halo 5. Value seemed to be a focal point; free-to-play games World of Tanks and SMITE were offered courtesy of Rodent, Neverwinter by PTC Hetty, and the upcoming Games with Gold title Sunset Overdrive by Plasma wing. Despite how cool it is to hate on EA, I recommended EA Access - 17 full games, several 10 hour trails, early access to new releases, 10% off store purchases - when you can pick up a 12 month membership for about £20, you can't get much more value for money than that. ![]() Rob's Gamertag is bobhaltz if you want to add him for some multiplayer action. We've already sorted a full team of turtles for Platinum's upcoming TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan - turn around, touch the ground, bagsy Michelangelo! No taksies backsies. Grand Theft Auto V came bundled with his console, so you'll undoubtedly see Rob joining some of the frequent community gaming sessions the heavy-hitter draws. GTA: Online was frankly somewhat of a drag when I played it back at launch, not helped by the "looooong loading screens" Confused Johnny mentions, but Rodent's Sumo clip - which naturally features Plas failing - has me thinking it might have improved with age. Why do I find myself thinking those tire-marks were put there intentionally, as a crude indication of wiry pubes on a testicle? In the interest of fairness, we'll give Plas a little justice and flip the script. I present Rodent's unfortunate meeting with a car door: Plas will a-door getting his revenge almost as much as this bad pun - he might not be able to handle it. ... With rumours of a potential PS4K doing the rounds and getting people (mainly just me) excited, bongmaster00 took a moment to dash our (read: my) hopes by pointing out what seems obvious in hindsight. "I would bet my last penny that it means 4K media ready and not 4K games. A console style box capable of playing PS4 games at 4K would cost well over £1000, as well as just not being currently possible." In consolatory news, Killer Instinct Season 3 launched this week. For everyone but Plas, that is; his internet speeds mean he'll have the 21 GB update downloaded and ready to go for next week. I just hope he isn't planning on playing Quantum Break at launch, as ImmaturityRules carries a grim warning if that's the case. "21GB? That's nothing. I'm currently downloading 120GB+ of Quantum Break, so I'm fully expecting a phone call from my ISP asking if I've turned my house into a Starbucks." Back-peddling for just a moment, Plas recommended KI to Rob with the caveat that he "could always do with another punching bag", but the time I played him I don't remember that being how it went. Get a few games in whilst he updates and I don't see you having any issue putting a W to your name, Rob. On the topic of fighting games, Confused Johnny bravely declared his love for muscular, baby-oiled men in shiny underpants wrestling, sorry, sports entertaining, with one another in WWE 2K16. I tease, but in reality I've played all 18 entries in the main WWE series and numerous more spin-offs. I'm also a bit excited for WrestleMania on Sunday. I never did grow up. Metalrodent's tank fetish once again manifested itself in the forum this week. He's so devoted to World of Tanks that he took part in a developer-hosted clan tournament... and won! You can see the cheesy highlights video put together by one of the game's developers below. As if that wasn't enough tank-related activity for one person, he's been busy modelling more of them as well. A "Revell 1:76 M40" this time, which apparently looks like this. The more you know.
