Pre-orders for Torn Banner Studios’ medieval first-person multiplayer title, Chivalry 2, are now open, with the studio also sharing details on next month’s closed beta.
The closed beta runs from Friday, 23 April - Monday, 26 April and will include cross-play between all platforms. Participating players will be able to compete in “mass-scale combat” with multiplayer matches supporting up to 64 players.
The Siege of Rundhelm map, which will see teams competing for control of a well-fortified castle in Team Objective mode, will be playable for the first time. Meanwhile, smaller modes such as Team Deathmatch and FFA will also be included in the beta. Torn Banner Studios’ closed beta will also be a chance for the developers to show off the game’s revamped environmental combat system. Players are now able to use a variety of weapons found on the battlefield, from Ballistae, Trebuchets and Battering Rams to flaming chickens and empty mead cups. Chivalry 2 is out 8 June on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and PC via the Epic Games Store. The standard edition has an RRP of $39.99/€39.99/£34.99, while the special edition is listed at $49.99/€49.99/£44.99. Will you be pre-ordering Chivalry 2? Looking forward to the closed beta? M2H and Blackmill Games (Verdun, Tannenberg) have announced a new entry in their WW1 Game Series, Isonzo. The game will launch with its own flagship mode called Offensive. This mode sees one team attempt to capture and hold defensive positions – which range from concrete bunkers to shallow fox holes – while the other team tries to stop them.
Players will be able to take on different roles in order to “react to the battlefield,” including choosing an engineer loadout that has the ability to cut through barbed wire. Going by the trailer, it looks like certain areas of the maps can be drastically altered, such as the bridge we see getting destroyed. Like Verdun and Tannenberg, Isonzo also boasts a meticulous attention to detail when it comes to historical accuracy, with weapons, uniforms, trench designs and “significant landmarks” all said to be authentically recreated in-game. Isonzo is out sometime later this year and will be available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and PC via Steam. Let us know your thoughts on the game below or in the forums. |
