The winner will receive a life-size, full-metal replica of the game's Screamer junk robot. The "9-foot tall, 1700lb behemoth" has been custom made from over 500 pieces of steel and scrap metal and serves as a fully functioning demo station for the game, complete with five working LCD screens.
Also included is a special limited edition steel canister, branded whisky glasses, a T-shirt, stickers, pins and three copies of the game.
"The four charities officially partnered with the campaign are Special Effect in the UK, Able Gamers in the US, Gaming Aid in Germany and Make a Wish in France. Each of these charities does exceptional work towards helping those living with a disability, harness the power of video games to improve quality of life and find new ways to enjoy their favourite past time.

"The auction starts today at £5,000 and is open to buyers in Europe, Japan and North America and will last for ten days. For any bids exceeding the opening figure 70% of the final sale price will be committed and split between the four charities."

Those wishing to do their bit for charity by purchasing a giant robot can check out the listing on eBay.

If you're looking for something a little more modest, the Steel Rats Deluxe Edition is now available to pre-order at the discounted price of £15.99 (or £13.59 for PlayStation Plus members). At launch, the standard edition will retail at £15.99 and the Deluxe Edition will be priced at £18.99.

Steel Rats launches 7 November on Xbox One, PS4 and Steam. Keep 'em peeled for our review and your chance to win a copy in an upcoming giveaway.

Celebrate Halloween with limited time events in For Honor and Rainbow Six Siege - Pass the Controller

Ubisoft have announced that two spooky seasonal events are now live for a limited time. For Honor's Return of the Otherworld features a new game mode, community challenges and exclusive themed loot, whilst Rainbow Six Siege's Mad House Halloween Event includes a new playlist, skins and cosmetic items.

by Chris Brand

@pass_controller

Return of the Otherworld sees last year's Endless March game mode make a comeback. The 4v4 mode is much like Dominion but soldiers have been replaced by skeletons who deal brutal damage and are much more of a threat than their fleshy counterparts.
For the duration of the event, which runs until 8 November, players can loot weapons and cosmetic items from the battlefield and each Hero has a new mask outfit which can be purchased with in game steel.

The Mad House event in Rainbow Six Siege is available until 31 October and the limited time playlist features a Halloween-themed version of the fan-favourite map, House. Players can choose from five attackers (Ash, Thermite, Buck, Hibana and Finka) and five defenders (Mira, Vigil, Valkyrie, Jager, and Pulse), each with their own Halloween skins.
The "Trick or Treat" Ubisoft Club Challenge will award one Crimson Veil pack upon achieving 30 kills on the Mad House map, and a second for reaching 60 kills. Another will be gifted to everyone who logs in before 5 November.

Alongside the event, the Crimson Veil Collection, with brand new skins for five operators, will be available to purchase for 300 R6 Credits, and 2017's Halloween skins have been re-released for a limited time.

The trilogy includes the original three games - Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage! and Spyro: Year of the Dragon - all given a fresh lick of paint and fully remastered for the current generation of consoles.
First on the agenda is defeating Gnasty Gnorc, who has returned from exile and
unleashed evil magic on the Dragon Realms, trapping the Dragons in crystal and raising an army of Gnorcs.

Next up, Spyro travels to Avalar to free the land from the clutches of the evil sorcerer, Ripto, and his dastardly minions.

Finally, our purple pal takes on a sorceress in order to retrieve the stolen Dragon Eggs which are being guarded by her army of Rhynocs in the Forgotten Realms.

Learn all about Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden with this new video

19/10/2018

Mutant-Year-Zero-Road-To-Eden

Funcom and Swedish developer The Bearded Ladies have released a new video explaining the concept behind their upcoming tactical adventure game, Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden.

by Liam Andrews
Picture

@pass_controller

Inspired by the Mutant pen and paper RPGs, Road to Eden follows the story of a team of anthropomorphic animals as they try to survive in a “post-human” Sweden. The game features a mix of real-time exploration and XCOM-like turn-based combat, which you can see more of in the video below.
The seamless transition between combat and exploration means players are sometimes able to sneak into enemy camps, setting up advantageous positions before entering a fight.

The video also looks at the game’s hub world, known as the Ark, where players can relax and upgrade weapons and equipment, and mutations - abilities that grant special powers to characters during combat.

PC players who pre-order the standard version of the game will be granted three days early access ahead of release, while pre-ordering the digital deluxe version also gets you access to an exclusive beta next month. More information on both editions can be found here.

Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden is out 4 December on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Let us know your thoughts on the game below or in the forums.
