Rebellion gives other developers the green light to make 2000AD games

Games publisher/developer Rebellion have said they are open to other developers making games based on 2000AD’s vast library of characters and worlds, of which they hold the rights to.

In an interview with Bleeding Cool, Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley said the company was operating at “full capacity” with other projects, such as the upcoming Sniper Elite 4, and were leaving “too many classic and exploitable properties on the shelf.”

This means we could potentially get a new game starring Judge Dredd, something I’ve been hoping to see for some time now, while Kingsley himself would like to “see someone take on Mega City One’s Helltrekkers.”
 
While this is good news for fans of 2000AD and Rebellion games in general, Kingsley expects “dozens rather than hundreds of inquiries” from potentially interested developers, with four or five games from other developers released in the near future.
