The Division movie officially announced, stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain

Hollywood press may have broken the news a little earlier than planned, but Ubisoft Motion Pictures have today officially announced plans for a film based on The Division.

The big screen adaptation will star Jake Gyllenhaal (Jarhead, Nightcrawler) and Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty, Interstellar), with both actors’ production companies having a hand in the making of the film.

“We are excited to collaborate with Jessica and Jake, two of Hollywood’s most talented actors  and perfect creative collaborators to help bring Tom Clancy’s The Division to the big screen,” said Gerard Guillemot, Chief Executive Officer of Ubisoft Motion Pictures.
 
The Division is one of many Ubisoft titles to be getting a movie makeover, with other projects based on Assassin's Creed, Splinter Cell, Watch Dogs, Ghost Recon and Rabbids all currently in development. 
 
Gyllenhaal already has some experience in the genre, having starred in 2010’s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
