The rumour seems to stem from French gaming website gameblog.fr. They go on to say that Injustice 2 will use the same engine as Mortal Kombat X, and is scheduled to release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC in March 2017.
Nothing official has been announced, but you can keep an eye on Ed Boon's Twitter account; when the head honcho of NetherRealm Studios starts trolling, it's officially time to get excited. It might be worth noting some new job advertisements appeared on the developer's LinkedIn page a few hours ago - one of which was for a 'Data & Monetization Analyst'. The position requires a "Strong familiarity with mobile application ecosystems and operating systems like iOS and Android", suggesting the company could be looking to create a mobile game. The first Injustice, and MKX, both had free-to-play mobile games launched alongside them. What do you think of the rumour, are you hoping for an Injustice sequel? Let us know in the forums.
