In The Falconeer, players pilot huge armed birds of prey as they explore The Great Ursee, a “breath-taking open world full of fantastical creatures.” Gameplay is said to be a mix of acrobatic aerial combat and intense dogfights, set to the score of award-winning composer Benedict Nichols. You can see the game in action in the launch trailer below.
Those picking The Falconeer up on their shiny new Xbox Series X can enjoy the game in multiple visual modes, including 60 FPS at 4K and 120 FPS at 1080p. Meanwhile, Series S owners can choose from either 60 FPS at 1800p and 120 FPS at 1080p. The next-gen versions also boast a loading time of just 13 seconds, owing to the machines’ internal SSDs.

“Creating The Falconeer has been a journey years in the making for me; it’s such a deeply personal game and I can’t wait for players to pick this up” said The Falconeer creator, Tomas Sala.

“Whether it’s on PC or Xbox, please take some time to enjoy the world of The Great Ursee and everything it has to offer, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.”

The Falconeer is out now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. Standard digital editions of the game cost £24.99/ $29.99 /€29.99, while the physical version has an RRP of £34.99/ $39.99/ €39.99.
