A successfully-funded Kickstarter campaign from developer Madmind Studios, Agony's brand of first-person survival horror appears to employ the same elements that jettisoned titles like Amnesia and Outlast to great success.

According to Agony’s official website, the player begins their adventure as a "tormented soul" lacking any memory of their past. Throughout the course of the game you'll traverse “hostile environments” and face “mystical” encounters, presumably in order to escape hell and/or reclaim your past.

Agony is expected to release on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 this year, with a VR version to follow.
