Astroneer version 1.0 gets February release date for PC and Xbox One

System Era Softworks’ “interplanetary survival sandbox” title, Astoneer, is set to leave early access at the beginning of next year.

The game, in which players explore, mine and reshape procedurally generated planets - alone or with friends - has been downloaded more than two million times since it became available through Steam Early Access and Xbox Game Preview back in 2016.

Dedicated servers and cross-play between the two platforms will allow players to “build their bases asynchronously through Xbox One and PC” when the game fully launches, as per System Era’s intended vision.

​A new exploration-focussed adventure is also set to debut alongside the game’s full release, featuring seven new planets that are home to “dangerous flora, treacherous terrain and immense, mysterious structures.”

Astroneer can currently be picked up through the aforementioned early access programmes for $19.99 (or regional equivalent) but it will rise to its launch price of $29.99 in just two days’ time, on 16 November, so act quick if you’re tempted.

Astroneer launches 6 February on Xbox One and PC.
