The private beta kicks off on PS4 first. A second beta a few days later allows Xbox One owners to also get in on the action and test out some new features
Two of the biggest announcements from E3, Divisions and War Mode, will be live for the first time.
Divisions replaces the Pick 10 Create-A-Class system. The beta will feature a small portion of the soldier progression and the underlying foundation of Divisions. Players can choose to enlist in the Infantry, Expeditionary, Airborne, Armored, or Mountain Division. You won't be locked in to your choice and are free to try them all out.
War Mode, developed in partnership with Raven Software, is a new way to play Call of Duty's multiplayer in an immersive fight across the war-torn village of St. Lo, France.
The private beta will feature 3 maps (Pointe Du Hoc, Ardennes and Gibraltar), Operation Breakout in War Mode, 3 multiplayer modes (Team Deathmatch, Domination and Hardpoint), 5 Divisions and limited player progression.
More details will be revealed during a Call of Duty livestream on 22 August at 6pm.
