Catch up on the biggest news coming out of Microsoft’s X018 event - Pass the Controller

​More than 10,000 (very) excitable fans were in attendance at the fourth annual Xbox FanFest: Mexico City, to find out what Microsoft has in store over the next year.

Obsidian Entertainment and inXile Entertainment join Microsoft Studios

Microsoft have acquired Obsidian Entertainment (Fallout: New Vegas, South Park: The Stick of Truth, Pillars of Eternity) and inXile Entertainment (Wasteland 2, Torment: Tides of Numenera, Bard’s Tale IV). The studios will "continue to operate autonomously with their unique talents, IP and expertise," on both existing franchises and new projects.
Step up your boom with Crackdown 3 on 15 February

Crackdown 3 officially launches 15 February on Xbox One and Windows 10, and will be available to Game Pass subscribers at no additional cost.

X018 event saw the debut of Crackdown 3's new multiplayer mode, Wrecking Zone, in which two teams of five go head-to-head with an arsenal of superpowered skills and "boom-tastic" weapons in fully destructible battle arenas.
As a special thanks to the fans, the original Crackdown can be downloaded for free, from now until 30 November.

Xbox Game Pass gets bigger and better with new titles

Available now, Thief of Thieves: Season One tells the story of cat burglar Celia, as she makes the leap from apprentice to master, taking on high profile heists around the world.
There's more coming this month as PUBG hits Game Pass on 12 November and Agents of Mayhem, MXGP3 and Thomas Was Alone are also being made available starting from 22 November.

December will see Ori and the Blind Forest, Kingdom Two Crowns and Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice added to the Game Pass library.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps is set to release on Xbox One and Windows 10 in 2019 and Game Pass members can jump in from day one.

Microsoft also confirmed additional titles from independent developers, launching through the ID@Xbox program, that will appear on Game Pass as they debut on Xbox One. Starting "this holiday" the line-up includes Aftercharge, Supermarket Shriek, Mutant Year Zero, Pathologic 2, The Good Life, Secret Neighbor and Void Bastards, a new kind of strategy/shooter from one of the minds behind Bioshock.
Expansions and DLC are on the way for current Game Pass titles Forza Horizon 4, State of Decay 2 and Sea of Thieves

Forza Horizon 4's Fortune Island expansion takes players to the "remote northern reaches of the British Isles" where you'll encounter "fierce lightning storms, perilous cliffside dirt roads, and sweeping paved mountain switchbacks under the mystical glow of the aurora borealis." You can take it all in from 13 December.

New GymkhanaTEN vehicles are also being introduced throughout the remainder of the year, and some are available now.
On 16 November the free Zedhunter Pack will release for State of Decay 2, featuring the new silent crossbow, additional melee weapons, facilities, blood plague consumables, and gameplay updates like the ability to respec your skills.
The fifth free content update for Sea of Thieves, The Arena, is due early next year. SoT’s first dedicated competitive mode allows pirates to test their skills against rival crews in an action-packed race for hidden treasure.

The Arena also brings with it a new tavern area and trading company, The Sea Dogs, offering more goals and rewards for completing them.
First look at Devil May Cry 5's The Void

Devil May Cry 5 producer Matt Walker joined director Hideaki Itsuno in Osaka to show off the city's rich culture and give us a taste of the comprehensive training mode known as The Void.
Experience The Forge in Shadow of the Tomb Raider

The Forge is the first of seven monthly DLC adventures coming to Shadow of the Tomb Raider. This challenge tomb, releasing 13 November, is playable solo or with a friend and unlocks the Brocken outfit, Umbrage 3-80 weapon and Grenadier skill.
Battlefield V trailer highlights Xbox One X enhancements

Battlefield V features 4K Ultra HD and HDR support on Xbox One X, providing enhanced visuals and "the best looking console experience" when it launches on 20 November. EA Access members can try out the Play First Trial right now.
Just Cause 4 brings the thunder with a new cinematic trailer

The Eye of the Storm trailer features about as much story content as one would expect, but it's packed with explosions, wrecks and utter chaos.

Just Cause 4​ releases 4 December and is available to pre-order now.
Winnie the Pooh joins the KINGDOM HEARTS III roster

Winnie the Pooh is the latest character to be confirmed in the new trailer for KINGDOM HEARTS III.

Additional gameplay reveals Sora's team-up attacks with Rapunzel and Captain Jack Sparrow.

You can take the fight to Master Xehanort and Organization XIII on 29 January.
Do your bit for charity with the #GiveWithXbox campaign

From now until 9 December, Xbox will donate $5 of Xbox products (up to a grand total of $1 million) for every photo shared on social media about what gaming together means using the hashtag #GiveWithXbox.

Donations will be split between "four inspirational charities who help bring gaming to everyone: Child’s Play, Gamers Outreach, SpecialEffect and Operation Supply Drop."


There were many more announcements made, including new backwards compatibility titles, Black Friday deals and mouse and keyboard support (with Razer set to deliver official peripherals next year), which arrives next week.
