We're fast approaching shooter season, with Battlefield V's reveal just around the corner and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 being unveiled to the world yesterday. It's a "boots on the ground" affair, shying away from the jetpacks and wall running that featured in some previous Black Ops titles, but maintaining the same feeling of speed and mobility by keeping the player’s gun up so that they can maintain fire in all situations. The Pick 10 Create-a-Class system returns, alongside Specialists, giving players more freedom to be creative with their loadouts, and there's a new Gear category offering more customisation options. One of the biggest changes to the core mechanics is the non-regenerating health. If you get shot up in a firefight you'll need to take a moment to hit the dedicated button and administer a health boosting shot to yourself, or risk a stray bullet ending your run. Have a gander at the action packed reveal trailer. The, now standard, Zombies mode has also had a revamp and Black Ops 4 will launch with three separate campaigns, promising brand new adventures and an all new cast. You can find the trailers for IX, Voyage of Despair and Blood of the Dead below. There's one final mode to round out the package. Blackout is Treyarch's take on the popular Battle Royale genre, with fan-favourite characters, a host of weapons, vehicles (of the land, sea and air varieties), RC-XDs, traps and even zombies, all spread across a huge map with iconic scenes from the series. There was a lot more shown and, provided you've got an hour to spare, you can watch the reveal in full without even leaving this page. If this huge info dump has got you hooked, pre-orders will grant access to the private beta.
