A sequel to Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, which first launched eight years ago, Chivalry 2 expands upon the foundations laid by its predecessor by introducing larger scale multiplayer battles. Certain modes will support up to 64 players, and the game’s combat system has been further refined and upgraded with new features, such as the ability to use environmental objects as weapons, including boulders, wagon wheels and even chickens.
A closed beta will take place from 26 – 29 March, with players able to gain access by pre-ordering Chivalry 2 on PC (news regarding console pre-orders will be shared “soon”) or via random lottery signups over on the game’s official website.

Alpha key holders will also be granted access to the upcoming beta. As will be the case with the full release later this summer, the closed beta will feature cross-play between all platforms.

Here’s a list of everything beta participants can expect to encounter:

  • The Siege of Rudhelm, an epic Team Objective mode map (plus more maps and modes)
  • Choose from 12 subclasses ranging from Skirmisher (hybrid melee/ranged Vanguard) to Poleman (Footman that keeps opponents away with long melee range)
  • Interactive traps including spikes, bear traps, chandeliers and more
  • Support features such as bandage crates and healing warhorns
  • Hundreds of new hilarious character voice lines
  • A smorgasbord of “found items” on the battlefield for you to pick up and use: guzzle down mead and then toss the cup, or throw some flaming barbequed chicken!

Chivalry 2
is out 8 June on Xbox One, PS4 and PC via the Epic Games Store. The game will also be playable on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
