Dark Souls will soon be playable on Xbox One via backwards compatibility. Well, that’s according to a premature listing on the Australian Xbox One Store, which showed the game to be included as a pre-order bonus for Dark Souls III. There’s no official confirmation from Microsoft, but seeing as Fallout 4 and others have come bundled with a backwards compatible copy of their respective predecessors, and the fact that the upcoming Quantum Break will include BC versions of both Alan Wake games, it’s probably safe to leave the salt un-pinched on this one.
The potential inclusion of a BC Dark Souls may be small change to veteran fans of the series already interested in the three special editions available for pre-order, as well as Xbox fans that already claimed a free copy via the Games with Gold programme. For newcomers, it'll make a welcome entry point to this unforgiving series. Dark Souls III is due for release on 12 April for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Comments are closed.
