DC Universe Online now available to download on Xbox One

Daybreak Game Company's free-to-play MMO, DC Universe Online, has landed on Xbox One, and to celebrate they've created 3 exclusive items: Powered-Up Cape, Powered-Up Emblem and Vapor Aura, which can also be downloaded for free.

In DCUO (catchy), players create their own superhero or super-villain, equip them with weapons and superpowers, and use them to prevent or cause mayhem. It’s also possible to play as one of 40 iconic DC characters in Legends PvP or PvE.

In a story penned by famous DC writers, including Geoff Johns and Marv Wolfman, Lex Luthor travels back from the future with bad news; whilst the heroes and villains have been fighting amongst themselves, Brainiac has been feeding on their powers, building the strength to return to Earth and destroy humanity. In an apparent effort to stop this, Lex has set off a device that bestows powers to thousands of ordinary citizens. Whether you choose to be good or evil, the ultimate goal is to stop Brainiac.

To help you get started, Daybreak have put together a quick guide to walk you through the first part of the journey.

​Having first been released in 2011 on PC and PS3, there's already 5 years worth of content, some of which is inspired by more recent entries in the DC catalogue, such as Batman v Superman and DC's Legends of Tomorrow. There's even more to come, with water based powers, and new content focused on Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, Darkseid and Gotham Girls still on the way.
