D3PUBLISHER have announced a new Earth Defense Force that’s coming to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 sometime next year.

Earth Defense Force: World Brothers features a new family-friendly “voxel-art” visual style made up of blocky, Lego-like textures. Set in a parallel universe, World Brothers sees up to four players teaming up to help save Voxel Earth from an invading army of giant alien creatures. Both enemies and playable characters will feature icons from throughout the series’ history, all reimagined in a voxel-style.

Players will be able to mix and match their team to “maximize each of their abilities to lay waste on their enemies,” with fights taking place across multiple “landmark battlefields” inspired by locations such as America, the UK, Japan and Egypt.

Earth Defense Force: World Brothers is due to launch sometime in early 2021 and will be available on both Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 via their respective digital stores.
