Far Cry 5 is set in America, full reveal coming later this week

Ubisoft have announced the next Far Cry will be set in the good old USofA, and have released a series of teaser trailers ahead of the game’s worldwide reveal.

There are four teaser trailers in total, each bearing the same title, “Welcome to Hope County”. The county in question seems to be Montana, which would corroborate earlier rumours that suggested the setting of the game could be the wild west, but judging by the clothing and modern day buildings we can see in the live-action shorts, it looks like Far Cry 5 will be set in either the present day or the recent past, and not in the mid-late 19th Century.

The trailers each feature a brief shot of some idyllic looking landscapes, before the seemingly peaceful countryside is shattered by death or violence. You can check them out for yourself below.

The worldwide reveal for Far Cry 5 is due to take place Friday 26 May at 2PM BST, Ubisoft confirmed.
