This week you have a chance to win the Xbox 360’s suite of Gears of War games - that’s the original, its two numbered sequels, and Judgment, the prequel spin-off - which are playable on Xbox One via backwards compatibility, with Gears 3 even being Xbox One X Enhanced.

​Having chainsawed its way onto Xbox back in 2006, the Gears of War series focuses on third-person, cover-based shooting, as you fight alongside the COG Army to eliminate an emerging threat known as the Locust Horde.

If you aren’t randomly drawn as our lucky winner and still want to either discover or revisit the formative Gears of War games, you can download them for between £11.99 and £14.99 each from the Xbox Store. Should you want to save a wedge and help support Pass the Controller in the process, however, you can purchase download codes for between just £1.99 and £2.99 each from our partner CD Keys.
