Following a successful transition out of Early Access on PC this summer, Hell Let Loose will make its console debut early next month on current-gen consoles. PS5 users can get a taste of the “authentic and immersive” combat ahead of launch thanks to an open beta this month. The beta, which runs from 16 – 20 September, will allow participants to try the Warfare multiplayer mode on the Hurtgen map.
The full release will feature cross-play between PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, along with two multiplayer modes. There’s the aforementioned Warfare, which sees two teams of 50 battling it out for control of a map, and Offensive, where one team takes on the role of attacker while the other plays defender.

Hell Let Loose will feature 10 maps in total based on the Western Front, including two inspired by the Omaha and Utah beach landings and a Carentan map that’s said to feature “brutal house-to-house, street-to-street urban fighting.”

Two new maps based on the War’s Eastern Front, Stalingrad and Kursk, along with playable Soviet forces, will be added to the console version of the game as part of a free winter update having previously launched on PC.

Here’s an overview of the game’s key features:

  • The brutality of the War in Europe: Hell Let Loose portrays the battles of the Western Front across two distinct modes, Offensive and Warfare.
  • Authentic strategic gameplay: Each side of 50 players is broken down into armour, infantry, and recon, led by officers with a direct line to an overall player-commander directing the flow of the game.
  • Unique metagame: Extended battles entrench participants in the tidal-like motion of the frontline that builds up Hell Let Loose’s real-time strategy inspired metagame.
  • Playing a part: Fourteen roles are available for players to experience, from engineers and snipers, to commanders and tank crewmen, medics and support; all play a part in the war effort.

Hell Let Loose is out 5 October, 2021 on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 and is currently available on PC via Steam. Those who pre-order the console version will unlock The Silver Vanguard cosmetic pack.
