Psychedelic massacre awaits this week’s giveaway winner, who’ll bag Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number on Steam.

​The game is a beacon of slick and stylish ultra-violence, evoking classic cult cinema whilst playing like a modern take on gaming’s retro heyday. It probably isn’t for the faint of heart, but those brave enough to jump in will discover some uniquely absorbing audiovisuals that perfectly accompany the grisly, demanding gameplay.

As well as posing mechanical challenges, Hotline Miami 2 aims to provoke thoughts on morality in entertainment, doing a decent job of it without coming across as preachy. There’s more on that in my review.
