Images of standalone Modern Warfare Remastered leaked

Despite Activision’s continued silence on the matter, it seems we can be pretty sure a standalone version of Modern Warfare Remastered will be releasing sometime this month if the latest evidence is anything to go by.

Last month, Gamefly and Amazon Japan posted release dates of 20 June for Modern Warfare Remastered on their respective sites, but now Charlie Intel have gotten hold of some images that appear to show physical copies of the game are in stores and ready to go on sale. The images, which you can see below, were leaked from one of Target’s stores in the US, and show the PS4 version of the game, with a price of $39.99.

Along with the images, Charlie Intel were also informed that Target computers had the game listed for a 27 June release, but the site has since been sent another photo that corroborates the original date of 20 June.

Activision recently released the Variety Map Pack for Modern Warfare Remastered, which included the four original DLC maps for the game – Creek, Chinatown, Killhouse and Broadcast – but if the above images are accurate, it doesn’t look like it’ll be included with the base game.
 
So, will we see Activision announce a standalone version of Modern Warfare Remastered later today, or will we have to wait another week for official confirmation? Let us know your thoughts below.
