Insurgency: Sandstorm is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this August

Focus Home Interactive and New World Interactive have revealed the release date for the console version of their tactical shooter, Insurgency: Sandstorm.

The game, which is already available on PC and had more than one million players in its first year of release, is known for its “realistic” take on modern warfare, with a focus on “close-quarters combat, objective-oriented multiplayer" and "deadly ballistics.” The focus on hardcore gameplay requires players to manage ammunition and carefully navigate environments as they clash in co-op and competitive multiplayer modes.

“The console market has been craving a hardcore modern-day tactical shooter for a long time. Expanding our tried and tested PC formula to the console market is a huge step in our company’s evolution and we are excited to bring our signature style of tactical FPS to the console market for the very first time,” said Keith Warner, President of New World Interactive.

​Insurgency: Sandstorm launches 25 August on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and is available now on PC.
