Killing Floor 2 update adds new maps and weapons, try the game for free this week on PS4 and PC

Tripwire Interactive have announced the Descent Content Pack, a free update for Killing Floor 2 that introduces some new content and a new sub-mode called Holdout.

Holdout offers an alternate take on the game’s Survival mode by dropping players into random battle locations after the end of each wave, making them more vulnerable to Zeds. This sub-mode is playable on the Descent map, an “all-new type of map never seen in Killing Floor 2 before.”

The second of the two maps, Nuked, was originally created by the game’s community, but will now feature as part of the Killing Floor 2 official map line-up.
 
New weapons included in the update are the Stoner 63a LMG and the Spitfires, a pair of ‘fan favourite’ handguns which first rose to popularity in the original Killing Floor.
 
To celebrate the release of the Descent Content Pack, Killing Floor 2 is currently on sale for 33% off on the PSN store, and will be free to play on PS4 thanks to a trial which begins today. The week-long free trial concludes on 28 March and includes access to the base game, as well as all the additional content released today.
 
A slightly shorter free trial also takes place on Steam this weekend, running from Thursday 23 – Monday 27 March, with the game discounted by 50% during this time.
