Kingdom Hearts III trailer showcases new Toy Story world

Square Enix and Disney have released a new trailer from the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, that gives us a first look at Kingdom Hearts III’s Toy Story world.

This is the first time in the franchise’s history that a world based on Disney Pixar’s iconic movies has been included in the games. In the trailer, Sora, Donald Duck and Goofy set about helping Woody, Buzz, Rex, Hamm and the Sarge search for Andy and the other toys who have gone missing, all the while having to deal with the appearance of Heartless in the world.

We also get to see some new toys called Gigas (which we’re guessing is the giant robot toys seen towards the end of the trailer) and how Sora can transform special Keyblades to deal out unique attacks on enemies.
 
The trailer is only available in Japanese at the moment, but it’s still worth checking out just to see how impressive Woody and co. look in video game form, which Jason Katz, Story Supervisor at Pixar Animation Studios said “mirrors the level of quality that we strive to achieve with every Pixar film.”
