Koch Media, a subsidiary of THQ Nordic, have acquired all rights and intellectual property tied to two classic franchises. “The original games gave fans a massive content offer and provided a pure and genuinely fun arcade shooter experience. We have many fans of the Timesplitters series among our own staff who are passionate about creating a product that will thrill todays gaming audience.”
The company also announced the acquisition of the Second Sight IP. The original game was released back in 2004 and followed the story of an American parapsychology researcher and featured a mix of stealth and gun gameplay. Both series were originally conceived by the studio Free Radical Design, who eventually went on to become Deep Silver Dambuster – best known for Homefront: The Revolution – who are also a part of Koch Media. While no new instalments for the two franchises have been announced just yet, more details on future projects will be revealed “in due course”.
