Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens coming this summer

3/2/2016

It seems Star Wars Battlefront won't be the only current-generation game set in a galaxy far, far away for long, as it's been announced that TT Games have a new LEGO Star Wars title in the works.

Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens will naturally be based on Episode VII, which hit the big screen late last year, featuring iconic characters and locations from the film. These include Jakku and StarKiller Base, with the likes of BB-8, Kylo Renn, Finn, Poe Dameron and Rey all poised to  roam around them.
Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens will also include exclusive new story content that bridges the gap between Return of the Jedi and the latest movie.

This means the game will be the only place to officially discover what occurred in the time between Episodes VI and VII, after Disney declared all previous extended fiction set during this period non-canon.

Players will also be treated to new gameplay features: Blaster Battles look set to add much needed depth to the shooting mechanics as the environment becomes key in defeating the First Order, whilst Multi-Builds allow players a choice in what they build for the first time. Arena-based air-combat will also see a series return.

Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens is scheduled for release this summer, 28 June, for PS4, PS3, PS Vita, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, 3DS and PC.

Check out the announce teaser below.
