Lock’s Quest coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC this April

Originally released on the Nintendo DS back in 2008, THQ Nordic are bringing the “tower defence meets RTS” title Lock’s Quest to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC this April.

The game is being remastered for today’s platforms by Digital Continue, who had to “walk a fine line” between retaining the visual style and gameplay of the Nintendo DS version, while simultaneously updating the game’s UI and control scheme, remastering the soundtrack and integrating a new progression system into the storyline.

Lock’s Quest is the story of a boy named Lock, who triggers a war between the Kingdom Force and the Clockwork Army when he discovers the latter trying to invade his village. Gameplay features a blend of RTS, RPG and tower defence elements in a campaign spread “across a dozen unique maps.”

Here’s a list of the remaster’s new features:
 

• New progression system automatically unlocks new turrets at specific story plot points
• Brand new Antonia Defense Battles featuring a new map
• All music remastered in high definition, with orchestrated introduction and ending
• Player controls remapped for keyboard/mouse and gamepad input
• Revamped User Interface, customized for HD resolution, including all new GUI Art
• Character portraits refactored in High Resolution
