A new entry in the Luigi's Mansion series, going by the working title of Luigi's Mansion 3, served as the opener. The short teaser doesn't give much away aside from a release window of 2019.
The original Luigi's Mansion is also set to re-release on 3DS next month, while owners of Nintendo's ever-popular handheld have Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn, Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey and Yo Kai Watch Blasters to look forward to in the not-too-distant future.

Another brief teaser informed us that Animal
Crossing will be making its anticipated debut on Switch sometime next year.
New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe is an enhanced port of the Wii U game that’s scheduled for a January launch, living up to its name by coming bundled with New Super Luigi U Deluxe at no additional cost.
Other notable titles on show included the exclusive Star Fox content in Starlink: Battle for Atlas, Mega Man 11, Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu and Let's Go, Eevee, Super Mario Party, Capcom Beat 'em Up Bundle - featuring a total of seven arcade classics from yesteryear - and Civilization VI, which is coming in November.
Nintendo Switch Online will officially go live on 18 September. The subscription service will allow online play, enable cloud saving and grant access to a growing list of classic NES titles. There's also a smartphone app for chatting and enhancing game experiences, plus members can take advantage of special offers, which weren’t specifically detailed at this time.

If playing the likes of Double Dragon and Donkey Kong on your Switch leave you feeling nostalgic for the good old days, you can relive your youth by purchasing a pair of NES-style wireless Switch controllers.
If you've got around 40 minutes free, we'd recommend watching the Direct in full (below) and discovering a few more surprises it has in store.
