EA have shared further details on the upcoming Mass Effect Legendary Edition, a remaster of BioWare's original series that allows players to “relive the legend of Commander Shepard in 4K Ultra HD with HDR." As you might expect, the original game, which launched back in 2007, has seen the most drastic visual overhaul, with locations such as Eden Prime, Ilos and Feros benefitting from “added detail and depth.”
Some of the game’s older mechanics have also been revamped, including the UI and Mako handling. Combat and exploration have been tweaked with improved aiming, squad controls and behaviour helping to “modernize” the experience. As well as the visual and gameplay updates, the game comes with more than 40 previously released DLC packs, including story expansions, weapons and cosmetic items. Mass Effect Legendary Edition is out 14 May on Xbox One, PS4 and PC via Origin and Steam. It’ll also be playable on Xbox Series X|S and PS5 via backwards compatibility.
