Sources close to Kotaku are suggesting EA have decided to put the Mass Effect series on hiatus after Mass Effect: Andromeda’s bumpy launch earlier in the year. Remaining BioWare Montreal employees are said to be either working on Andromeda’s multiplayer, or supporting development of other BioWare titles, including the project currently operating under the codename Dylan, which is being headed up by the main studio in Edmonton.
As Kotaku point out, it is highly unlikely EA is killing off the Mass Effect series entirely, with the publisher seemingly keen to let the series “sit” for a while after the lukewarm reception of Andromeda. Let us know your thoughts on the future of Mass Effect below. Leave a Reply. |
