Deep Silver and 4A Games have revealed the first details of two major story expansions which are coming to Metro Exodus. Those who are yet to complete the campaign should be aware of possible spoilers.

The Two Colonels, scheduled for release in summer, tells the tale of Colonel Khlebnikov as he makes his way home to see his son, Kirill, to celebrate New Year's Eve.

Colonel Miller retraces Khlebnikov's steps a year later in this linear chapter, armed with a new weapon, the flame-thrower.

The second expansion, Sam's Story, is a brand new "sandbox survival" level based on Vladivostok. Sam, a US marine at the Moscow embassy before the bombs were dropped, dreams of returning home and finding his family alive.

Sam sets off from the Aurora in search of a way back and arrives at the remains of Vladivostok’s "tsunami ravaged harbours, ruined industrial buildings, and crumbling residential districts."

Sam's Story is expected to release early next year.
